Max and Adam's Arapaho tribe project
We are studying the Arapaho tribe.They called themselves the 'Inuna-ina'and are close allies with the Cheyenne.This is roughly translated into 'our people'. The Arapaho were represented by a large delegation of 24 from Oklahoma.
What the Arapaho Ate?
They hunted and ate buffalo in the Plains.They also planted corn in the Eastern Woodlands.They never wanted to waste the buffalo so they ate every part of it. Like the hump ribs, kidney, the fat of the tounge. They hunted and ate buffalo in the plains. They also used the blood for pudding, stew and to drink.
What the Arapaho wore?
The Arapaho women made the clothes out of animal skin.They used deer, elk and buffalo. They used a lot of color too. They wore moccasins on all year round.
Where the Arapaho lived?
The Arapaho traveled a lot. They lived and planted in the Eastern Woodlands and,hunted in the Plains. But also lived in Oklahoma,Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas.
What Advancements did the Arapaho have?
They started traditonal tribe values and custom covering basic knowledge and understranding. They traded with all tribes of the Great Plains.
Why are studing about the Arapaho?
To help us learn how to survive in the wild without gear and weapons. Also to learn more about more tribes. Then we could learn how to weave baskets, hunt and to make a fire.
Are there any Arapaho left?
There are a lot of elder Arapahos left. Also they tell stories about their childhood.
